This past Wednesday night over 200 hundred people turned out for a “Health of East Boston Meeting”.
The meeting was the third in a series of 2010 health forums that the Boston Public Health Commission is hosting to discuss health issues specific to Boston neighborhoods. Participants learned about the findings of the latest Health of Boston report, and had the opportunity to discuss two key health issues affecting East Boston – substance abuse and obesity.
The meeting was made possible through a collaboration between the BPHC and many East Boston organizations and residents, including: the Harborside Community School/Center, East Boston Adult Education Coalition, East Boston Neighborhood Against Substance Abuse, Boston Alliance for Community Health, and East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.
